Microsoft is moving backend services to .NET 6

Microsoft has announced in an impressive blog post on the .NET DevBlogs that they have started an enterprise-wide migration to migrate backend services.

The goal is to migrate very important services to the latest LTS update of .NET - .NET 6.

In an extended analysis, the teams estimate that this will save

  • 30% cost savings
  • up to 50% increase in performance and scalability will be achieved
  • achieve a significant reduction in P99 service latency

as well as overall development productivity will be increased due to the new capabilities with .NET.
